(Audio) Ireland President, Michael D. Higgins, Takes On Tea Party.

Michael D. Higgins is President of Ireland, elected to office in November 2011.  In his biography, he is described as, “A passionate political voice, a poet and writer, academic and statesman, human rights advocate, promoter of inclusive citizenship and champion of creativity within Irish society.”

We get a glimpse of President Higgins, and his passionate spirit, in this clip via the website upworthy.com, where he takes on the Tea Party and accuses them of, “Wankers Whipping Up Fear!”

The interview took place in May 2010 (before Higgins was elected Ireland’s President) on Irish radio station Newstalk 106-108fm, with Tea Party friendly radio host, Michael Graham:
