(UPDATE) TX Prosecutor Disbarred, Jailed for Wrongful Conviction, Misconduct
In 1987, Kenneth Anderson, a prosecutor in the Williamson County district attorney’s office, prosecuted Michael Morton for the murder of his wife. Anderson, who in later years became a judge, withheld evidence at the trial, which could have proven Morton’s innocence. Morton was convicted, sentenced and spent 25 years in prison.
Kenneth Anderson was charged with tampering. He has been disbarred and will be jailed for 10 days. Read more about this development here.
