The Impact of Violence: The Raw, Unfiltered Emotion of a Mother in Agony

Last night, four year-old Lloyd Morgan was watching a charity basketball tournament at a playground in his Bronx apartment complex, when gunfire erupted and killed him. The bullet struck his head. The child’s mother, Shianne Norman, in raw, unfiltered agony, describes and shows us (watch the video) what co-victims of violence endure.  This emotional cry from her  should be a battle cry for all who are in a position to end this epidemic of violence in Black and Latino communities.  Where is the political courage and will to do the right thing about violence and gun control?

“You destroyed me; you changed my whole life in an instant, and I don’t know how I am supposed to go on.” That is the cry and pain of Shianne Norman.

“My son was 4 years old. He just turned 4 this May that just passed. He was going to school in September. He hasn’t gotten to live his life yet. He hasn’t gotten to do anything.”

“I always say, you don’t hate; you dislike. You don’t hate this person or that person because hate fills your heart and breeds bad. BUT I HATE these men!”

The below video is from ABC Local.  We recommend watching the CBS Local Video of Ms. Norman as well.
